Sling Blade's Trade (K.C.) is sired by the renowned American Field Champion, 15X NSTRA Ch, Beeline Bullet's Bravado (Brave). Beeline Bullet's Bravado (Brave) was an excellent competitor in National Shoot To Retrieve (NSTRA) field trials and was a dog who possessed speed, range, stamina, an exceptional nose and bird-finding ability, in addition to extreme style. Brave's accomplishements include 2005 and 2006 winner of the South Carolina NSTRA Regional Championship and was High Point dog both years, 2003 NSTRA Dog of the Year, the Runner-up Champion of the 2003 NSTRA Quail Unlimited Nestle/Purina Dog of the Year National Championship, 2002 NSTRA Grand National Champion, Runner-up 2001 NSTRA Dog of the Year Championship. Beeline Bullet's Bravado (Brave), who has more than proven himself in the field is sired sired by NSTRA legend 32x NSTRA Champion Nolan's Last Bullet. Nolan's Last Bullet is the all-time winningest dog in the history of the National Shoot To Retrieve Association (NSTRA). He holds virtually every meaningful record in this arena of field trial competition: most times a champion (32), most lifetime championship points (508), most points in a single season (102), most placements in NSTRA title trials (14). His six first-lace finishes in NSTRA's flagship events - The Trial of Champions, the Grand National Invitations, etc. - is a record only one other dog has equaled.

Sling Blade's Trade's dam, Shadows Freckled Sue, is sired by NFC/FC/AFC Shambo's Dark Shadow who is the top winning hour AKC All-Age Brittany in the history of the breed. In 2001 he was named the National Field Champion at the All-Age National Championship. He has 44 1-hour All-Age placements throughout his career and is an 11x American Field Champion and 10x American Field Champion Runner up. He was also named the 2002 Iams/Royal Canin Dog of the Year.

Sling Blade's Trade (K.C.) is showing great promise in the field as well as being a very affectionate and even tempered pet with loads of heart and bird drive. She is showing enthusiasm, good range, and will hold point stylishly and has proven in her juvenile field trial entries/wins that she has what it takes to be that "really" nice dog everyone looks for. Despite a most unfortunate accident of being rattlesnake bitten in the area of her right eye which has caused some cosmetic defects only, she has been fully broken for adult stakes and we will proudly begin campaigning her as a finished dog in the 2011 fall season.
